Gerald grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he attended both Moody Bible Institute (BA Biblical Studies), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MA Christian Thought). He served as an Associate Pastor of Student Ministries in Fremont, Nebraska ('99-'02), and now serves as a Pastor of Adult Ministries at Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
Along with Gerald's pastoral responsibilities, he has contributed to Trinity Journal, and is president of The Society for the Advancement of Ecclesial Theology, an organization dedicated to the renewal of scholarship within the pastoral community.
Gerald has been married to his wife Jill for 9 years, and together they have two sons. His experiences as a young man, as well as his time working in student ministries, provided the occasion for much of what he writes in Raising Purity. His heart is to see the gospel and image of God reclaim the center-stage in all areas of life, not least in the realm of sexuality.
